Quorum to Develop New Pipeline Transaction Management System
for Gulf South Pipeline
Houston, Texas – July 21st, 2003. Quorum
Business Solutions, Inc has entered into an agreement with
Gulf South Pipeline Company, LP to supply a new Pipeline
Transaction Management software application. The Quorum Pipeline
Transaction Management system will allow interstate pipeline
facility operators to efficiently manage transactions with
shippers on their system, including contracts, scheduling,
and accounting. It will also incorporate a web-based suite
of tools to allow the support of online communications. Product
design features will include FERC and NAESB (GISB) regulatory
compliance and functionality that is configurable to anticipate
evolving business requirements. The product will leverage
leading edge technologies.
“Gulf South recently undertook an evaluation of ways
to improve efficiencies and offer both shippers and internal
staff streamlined business processes”, said Claire
Burum of Gulf South Pipeline. “We considered the full-range
of available alternatives from commercially-offered software
packages to the upgrade of our legacy system. Our decision
to embark on a product development project with Quorum was
made on the strength of Quorum’s track record, methodologies,
domain expertise and existing product design elements that
will be leveraged into the new product.”
Quorum will own the Quorum Pipeline Transaction Management
software and is already enjoying success in marketing it
to other pipeline companies. The new product will be supported
by Quorum and enhanced over time with input from an active
User Group. Gulf South appreciates the benefits realized
from this vendor-supported approach, including lower overall
cost of ownership through economies of scale and extended
life of product.
