Major Interstate Pipeline Company Completes Implementation of
Quorum Pipeline Transaction Management System
Houston, Texas - December 1, 2004. Quorum Business Solutions (Quorum) reports that a major interstate natural gas pipeline transmission operator is now managing its pipeline operations using the Quorum Pipeline Transaction Management system. The Quorum software application is a next generation system delivering a full range of pipeline transaction management functionality reflecting the latest industry requirements, including NAESB/FERC compliance. It is the first major new pipeline management software solution brought to market in a decade. This 'go live' event represents a significant milestone in the software product's industry acceptance.
In July 2003, Quorum announced that it had begun development of a new software application to allow interstate pipeline facility operators to efficiently manage transactions with shippers on their system. The scope of the software's management capabilities includes contracting, scheduling and accounting, as well as web-based communications with shippers. Development of the product was undertaken by Quorum with the pipeline operator acting as the initial sponsoring client. Subsequently, two additional pipeline operators have licensed the software and are actively partnering with Quorum to collaboratively refine and validate the design of the product. These clients are scheduled to complete their implementation projects and go live on the Quorum Pipeline Transaction Management system in Q1 2005.
