Upgrading to BusinessObjects 3.X

The newer versions of BusinessObjects XI consist of many useful features and products that could be beneficial for your company. Consider the following when deciding whether to upgrade to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.x:

Web Intelligence Rich Client
- A version of Web Intelligence now provided for your PC
- Capability to develop Web Intelligence reports without a browser
Improved speed on existing interface and controls

Report against other BusinessObjects systems
Three-tier mode (ZABO) available again

With BusinessObjects XI 3.x comes enhancements to the Central Management Console and improved Web Intelligence features as well as the addition of Server Intelligence Agent which restarts hung or crashed processes automatically.

Central Management Console (CMC) has been completely redesigned:

Most administrative tasks are now within the CMC
Tree control navigation
Better auditing
More flexible security
Bulk actions allowed (i.e. reset all passwords)

Several new Web Intelligence features added as well:

Track data changes
Document linking
Image Embedding
Smart measures (%, ratio)
More report formulas
Optional prompts
Quick Display mode which contains a large amount of data

While SAP BusinessObjects is ending support on past releases, BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.x will be supported through 2015.
